Who we are

Squadz is a recreational sports technology company based in San Francisco. Our mission is to make recreational sports more accessible to all, and we do that by connecting sports facilities with community members through programming and rentals via our online platform.

Whether our users are looking for basketball open gyms, soccer pickup games, or volleyball tournaments, our goal is to help our community play the sports they want, when and where they want to!

What you’ll be responsible for

We are looking for someone who can represent the Squadz brand in their community and help us share our amazing experience with users in their area. As a Squadz Ambassador, you’ll be responsible for making Squadz events & activities FUN by maintaining the right vibe, keeping players engaged, and making them feel included and active. You’re not the referee, but you’re the authority on the court or field on how things work. You have a firm grasp of the rules of the game and can explain it to any new players. You’re maintaining and promoting the beloved Squadz culture that players will keep coming back to.

During the application process, you’ll be able to select your city, preferred sport(s), and availability!

Marketing & Community Management

• Attending a set number of Squadz activities each month

• Promoting activities and the Squadz brand in general

• Executing on coordinated social media campaigns

• Recording and collecting digital content from activities

• Recruiting other potential ambassadors

• Providing support to users

• Doing what it takes to make sure users have a great experience at activities

• Producing written and digital content for our publication The Playbook

Activities last for 1-2 hours and typically take place in the evenings, on weekends, and sometimes holidays.

Who you are

requirements

• Ability and willingness to work on weekday evenings, weekends, and/or holidays and commit to a consistent schedule

• Excellent communication skills: needs to be able to speak to prospective players and venue partners about Squadz activities & partnership opportunities, engage participants

• Experience playing and participating in recreational sports; whether that be pickup sports at public gyms, parks and fields, or in leagues 

• Knowledge of selected sport’s rules and protocols

• Team player with demonstrated leadership ability

• Ability to take direction, work together with other team members

• Excellent problem solving skills 

• Experience with conflict resolution

• Time management: on-time and ready to go
  

nice to have

• Experience coaching

• Experience maintaining/cleaning recreation spaces and venues

• Experience working with recreational services (camp counselor, Parks & Rec. Dept., etc.)

• Experience in community outreach
